Oceanside is one of the most affordable beach communities in Southern California with low real estate prices for both single family homes and residential condos.  It's not uncommon to find single family homes in the $400,000 range which is unheard of in most beach communities along the California coastline.  Real Estate prices are so low that it's still possible to find a home with ocean views for under $500,000 in Oceanside. St. Malo Heights is a great ocean view community located at one of the highest points in the central section of Oceanside.  The homes are located in a secure gated community that offers ocean view single level homes perched above the 5 freeway.  The views can be really amazing with panoramic Ocean and Catalina Island views.  

This is a very small community of only 34 homes built in the French Normandy architectural style.  The inspiration of these homes is derived from small beach cottages found in the South of France in the beach town called Saint Malo.  Homes in this area are also built in this same housing style and have severed as the main design of these properties.  The homes offer an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and can have bonus loft areas

The South Oceanside area is a great place to find ocean view homes in Oceanside, California.  The most obvious place to start looking are the homes located on Pacific Ave that are located on the beach front.  These homes have wonderful ocean and Pier views and are normally priced in the $2 to $3 million dollar range.  On average, there are just a small handful of these properties available for sale at any given time.
