Oceanside, California has several locations that offer beachfront vacation rentals for lease. The term "beachfront" is loosely coined as a condo or home that is located next to the beach and not necessarily located directly on the sand. One of the streets that runs parallel with the beach is commonly known as "The Strand." The Strand offers a variety of smaller condos that run from the Oceanside Pier to the Oceanside Harbor area.

One of the largest complex's on the Strand is the San Miguel community. The San Miguel complex occupies several ocean front blocks on the Strand with a large number of beach close and ocean view condos for sale and for lease. These condos currently rent between $5,500 to $5,900 a month and are located at 400 N The Strand and 500 N The Strand respectively. There are also smaller condos buildings in this area like Pacifica Strand and Pacifica Star located at 510 N Pacific Street that offer beachfront rentals for 4,600 a month and are located near the Pier area.

Another vacation rental option is the luxury community known as "Saint Malo." Saint Malo is a gated community that offers French Normandy inspired single family homes located next to the beach and the Buena Vista Lagoon area. Homes in this community rarely come available for lease with one current listing at $12,800 a month. The most affordable option is the North Coast Village complex near the Oceanside Harbor which currently offers a weekly one bedroom rental between $750.00 to $900.00 a week. This is a fully furnished rental with kitchen, king size been and sleeps up to 4 people.
