One of our most often requests from clients who are looking to relocate to Oceanside is where to find rentals near the Camp Pendleton Marine Base.  There is a large population of Marines who live in the Oceanside area for a variety of reasons.  First, the entrance to Camp Pendleton has two locations, one at the very north end near San Clemente and another one on the south end located in Oceanside.  To go from one end of Camp Pendleton to the other takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic on the 5 freeway.  Living near the gated entrance makes a lot of sense and cuts down on travel time.  Another reason why many pick Oceanside over other towns is that it's more affordable to live when compared with other beach towns in San Diego county.  This is

Whelan Ranch is an upscale area of Oceanside that is known for it's expansive single family homes.  Many don't realize that this area is also an excellent place to find residential condos at great price points.  The condos were built in the mid 1980's and the builder at the time decide to build units with two to three bedroom floor plans.  The complex is centered around a circular street with a community pool and clubhouse located in the middle.  The location is near the newer Arrowood neighborhood in Oceanside which features large upscale homes near the Arrowood golf course.

Oceanside offers a wide variety of rental properties that are located within a short distance to the beach.  While the large majority of these are residential condos there is only a handful of single family homes that are available for lease.  There are several areas to look in Oceanside that offer a wide range of prices.  For the most part, Oceanside rental prices will be much lower than neighboring communities like Carlsbad.  Those attending Camp Pendleton also find areas in the northern section of Oceanside very desirable due to the short commute time.

Oceanside is well regarded in Southern California for offering some of the lowest priced beach homes.  Currently, there are several single family homes in the mid $300,000 range which is an incredible price when compared with other beach towns.  For example, the beach town to the north is San Clemente and you can barely buy a condo for $300,000 as single family homes start in the mid $600,000 range.  This also true for the beach town to the south which is Carlsbad.  Single family homes in the Carlsbad area start in the mid $500,000 range.  Oceanside homes are incredibly well priced and still offer the same close proximity to the beach that any other beach town would offer.  We have gathered the 5 lowest priced homes in Oceanside and featured them here.
